November, 1999

This month's hand is a slight variation on one that occurred in the first session of this year's DSBA Open Pairs State Tournament.

AUCTION
SOUTH WEST NORTH EAST
1C Pass 1H Pass
1N Pass 4C Pass
4H Pass 6N Pass

A word about the bidding: The 4C bid is Gerber. When South shows one ace, North correctly bids the slam.

West leads the CJ, you play the queen, and East discards the S8.

Plan the play.
